Figure Drawing

Some drawings from last semesters figure drawing class.

A self portrait in pastel. ~ 6 x 2 ft.

Reflection assignment, charcoal.

Here we drew the model three times over the course of a motion relative to a stationary object. ~1 min each.

Jet Rally

A sneak peek at my latest project. Its a 3D render of a made up jet engine driven 70's rally car! The 3D rendering is done in blender while textures like the dust and any 2D assets are done in Gimp. The bottom image is newer but has lighting issues (Far to bright). This is now quite finished, it still needs a background and a sky as well as many small fixes. I hope you enjoyed it anyway. Expect the final product and much more soon.

I decided to try a new technique used a lot for making concept art.

I used bits of images layered over each other for shapes and texture,
then I went over and shaded it with a brush.

The subject is not related to any of my projects, it's just a mechanical fisherman in a swamp.
I took inspiration from the way Egrets and Angler fish catch their pray.

Sorry I've been absent for months. This is something I've been working on the past couple days.

I say its finished but I would love feedback.

Also you can look forward to more regular posts now.

Hindenburg Work In Progress.

Possibly to dark but its not quite done, I need to see it on other peoples screens to judge the brightness.
The model, textures, and normal mapping are for a game level i'm creating but I thought a quick render of it would look nice.

Tell me what you think so far.

Iron Factory

This unfinished model and render was inspired by a machine in a factory that makes giant iron pipes.
All the different colored glows from molten iron and machines made it a very interesting scene.
Its still just an idea but I like it and I think ill keep working on it.

Edit: Yes I know it's very dark, I'm going to fix that soon.

The green orange and blue look very interesting.
Not textured yet.

Videogames

Even though my modeling/rendering program of choice is Blender I also work in the Source game engine.
I don't really need to explain allot here, my two followers know what I am talking about.
Here is a screenshot of a Half-Life 2 map I created a long time ago to test bounce lighting.
Its a bit dark but the point of that was to see the bounce lighting better.
Keep in mind this is old.

I also model for Source.
Mainly my mod but here's a weapon model i'm working on for TF2.
Specifically for the Heavy Weapons Guy.
Its based off a flak 38 anti aircraft gun that I stylized a bit to fit TF2's exaggerated cartoony art style.
But it still needs textures and animations.
I thought it would be a nice break from all the gatling guns.
And yes the handles are crap/place holders, but as I said its not done.
